| CEBU FERRIES ENTRY AT THE PORT OF SURIGAO CITY |

Cebu Ferries entry at the port of Surigao City was welcomed warmly by the “Surigaonons” headed by their City Mayor- Mayor Pons Casurra. Cebu Ferries Passage Services Manager Ms. Cheryl A. Sarsalejo, Mr. Gabby Margaja - Operations Assistant, Ms. Marikit Lucero – Customer Relations Specialist and Ms. Marilyn Sulima – PRS and Operations in Charge paid their courtesy call to Surigao City Mayor Pons Casurra last November 23, 2009 right after the maiden voyage of Cebu Ferry 2 last November 21.
Formal launching of Cebu Ferries was held in Tavern Hotel in Surigao City last December 2, 2009. The event was formally open by a welcome address of Cebu Ferries AVP-Operations, Mr. James Ray D. Lavides. It was followed by a message from the city mayor – Mayor Pons Casurra. The mayor was impressed by the service of Cebu Ferries and most of all the vessel accommodations he felt very comfortable as he was one of the passengers together with his 2 constituents during the Cebu Ferry 2 maiden voyage to Surigao. He asked the management of Cebu Ferries to extend the same service to his people and to take care with the Surigaonons.
The event was also graced by the City‘s Vice Governor – Hon. Noel T. Catre. The Vice Governor assured the management of Cebu Ferries and to all the travelers that Surigao provinces are safe to travel and there is no problem with their peace and order situation same peace and order situation with Surigao City which he was thankful with the city mayor’s good governance.
A well attended event from the different government offices, schools and media personalities. It was a huge success with the support from the Northern Mindanao Area team headed by Mr. Roe Sayat, Mr. Titing Gocella, Ms. Atek Miel and Mr. Jun Piala of Cagayan, Mr. Journix Balag of Iligan, Ms. Kathy Concon of Butuan, Ms. Marife Magadan Calibat of Ozamiz Agency, Mr. Victor Lao, Surigao’s new Unit Leader and Ms. Luz Torrevillas SuperFerry Central Visayas Area Head.
Cebu Ferry 2 serves Surigao City three (3) times a week every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 7:30PM and every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Surigao to Cebu at 11:00PM. Travel time is only seven (7) hours direct to Surigao and vice versa.
